The creation of the Dungeon Lab logo combines a beaker to symbolize creation and exploration and a dragon to symbolize the fantasy elements of TTRPG gameplay. The geometric design of the entire logo was inspired by the D20 dice used in a majority of TTRPG games and the bubbles coming out of the beaker are then shape of little D20 dice!

ABOUT THE LOGO
The Logo
NPC & Monster organization

The interface organizes NPCs (non-player characters) and monsters in a way that balances utility for the GM with discovery for the players. In the player-view—to further enhance storytelling—information can be selectively locked or unlocked by the GM, ensuring players uncover details as their characters progress. This dynamic system keeps gameplay immersive, while giving GMs precise control over the pacing and flow of information.

Item creation

The item creation screen was designed with flexibility at its core, accommodating the diverse mechanics of different TTRPG systems. Fields can be added, removed, or customized depending on the game, allowing game masters to tailor items to match the unique rules of their campaign. This modular approach not only provides the ability to create using a template but also without a one-size-fits-all interface.

The item inventory interface was thoughtfully crafted to scale with the needs of the game master (GM). Whether dozens or hundreds of items are created and shared with players, the design ensures they can be seamlessly stored in individual inventories. Keeping the interface clean and intuitive was essential—placing a strong focus on smart filtering tools that empower users to quickly find exactly what they need without clutter or confusion.
